Harvester of Sofia continuous with the series of interviews with the chapterheads of different local chapters all over the world and some crazy Metallca fans.  So, it is time for some of our friends form the cold parts of the world. Our next guest is the Metallica Club Scandinavia Chapterhead – Mattias Hedeby – the right place for many of the Scandinavian die hard fans.

HOS: What is your name (nickname), where are you from and position it your local chapter?

Mattias: Mattias Hedeby, Stockholm Sweden, Chapter head

HOS: When was the first time you have heard Metallica and which song?

Mattias: It was in early 1992 right after the release of the Black album. I borrowed the cd from a friend and after that I bought the complete Metallica catalogue and start collecting as well.

HOS: Your favorite album or song? And explain why?

Mattias: Album: Master of puppets. A complete thrash/metal album! Cliff Burton and amazing songs! Battery with the symphony; the mix between the hard/raw and the beautiful in the strings. And James sings amazing!

HOS: When and where you have seen Metallica Live? Which one is your personal favorite? And how many concerts you want to see in the future?

Mattias: I list the countries: Sweden, US, Norway, Danmark, Ireland, Germany, France, Greece, Czech Republic.
My favorite is the one in Berlin 1999 with the Berliner Symphony and the promotion gig after the release of ReLoad in Stockholm, it was just around 1500 people in the crowd, it was cool.

HOS: Where are the craziest Metallica fans you’ve ever met?

Mattias: Haha I will say all the Norwegian chicks! They drink beer all the time and always end up in the front row at the shows! They’re everywhere. They’re crazy:)

HOS: Would you take the offer to work for Metallica if they ask you to?

Mattias: Yes! Lars asked me once but I think it was a joke:)

HOS: If it was up to you what would you change in the live performance of Metallica?

Mattias: I know that they are one of the biggest bands in the world but it would be fun to have more spontaneous moments. Sometimes it feels like they have planed every step they take and word they say. But I mean, I do all the things exact the same way at my work:)

HOS: If I have never been at a metallica show how you..ll convince me to go?

Mattias: Do you wanna have the time of your life? Goosebumps and a fantastic atmosphere? Great people and James, Lars Kirk and Rob! Lets go!”

HOS: When did you join the MetClub and when was born the idea for the local chapter?

Mattias: I joined the MetClub in early 1996 after I found a flyer at my local record store for joining the Metallica Club Scandinavia so I joined them both at the same time.
Metallica Club Scandinavia started in 1995 by Niclas Swanlund. We are the first LC and the idea of a LC came after Niclas presented the idea to the MetClub. When he moved to the US to work with Metallica took a guy named Fredrik Stridh over as the chapter head. And when he didn’t want to run the chapter anymore took I position as the chapter head of Metallica Club Scandinavia. I think it was around 2003.

HOS: What is the main purpose of your local chapter?

Mattias: To be a central point for all the Scandinavian fans and showing our loyalty and love to our favorite band, Metallica. We also work together with the Metallica Collectors Club and Cliff In Our Minds; the foundation that raised the memorial stone at Gyllne Rasten in D?rarp where Cliff was killed in 1986.

HOS: What attendances do you give for the local chapter for its development and popularization and for all members of your local chapter?

Mattias: I try to listen to what the fans want and try to push for the MetClub as much as possible, and I always have friends at the MCS crew to make MCS growing and continue to go forward. Arrange parties and cool competitions. Make cool t-shirts so people want to were them at the shows so everyone finally knows that we exists:)

HOS: Do you know something for Bulgaria? Would you say something special to the members of HOS?
